Classes in Magic

FutureQuest Home Page | Academy of Magic
The FutureQuest Academy of Magic was originally founded in 1974 as The Action Magic Academy. Since then, hundreds of students ranging in age from 7 to 70 years old have fulfilled their ambitions to join the magic fraternity. Not everyone wants to become a performer, and that's okay. Many just want to learn a new hobby and become proficient at something that's challenging and fun. Some, however, do go on to become members of professional magic organizations such as the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) or the Society of American Magicians (SAM). One of our graduates subsequently went on to claim one of the highest offices in magic as "International President" of the SAM. Whatever your ambition, you'll find the study of magic to be one of the most interesting and rewarding choices you could possibly make.
Classes meet in the Colorado's largest and most comprehensive magic studio, a corner of which is pictured on the top of this web page. Your classroom contains thousands of props and magical effects to enhance your learning experience at FutureQuest's Academy of Magic. The FutureQuest magic library contains books on nearly every aspect of the art as well as memorabilia and a detailed world history of magic that covers thousands of years of prestidigitation. Our video library provides hundreds of hours of the very best that magic has to offer. Everything an aspiring magician could hope for can be found in this truly unique environment. Private sessions are individually structured toward attaining the student's specific goals. If you want to build a complete magic show, or perhaps just learn a few tricks to amuse yourself, you'll find the FutureQuest Academy of Magic to be the perfect choice.
Schedule
Private sessions are scheduled on a weekly basis. Once you have been assigned a day and time, it's yours for as long as you want it. Most sessions are scheduled at least one month in advance.

Attendees
Both, adults and children take magic lessons. Husbands and wives, fathers and daughters, mothers and sons, siblings, etcetera, all find magic a bonding experience. All attendees must sign a secrecy pledge and are encouraged to participate. Parents who choose only to observe, however, are welcome to do so.

Class Size
Only private sessions are being offered at this time. Family participation is encouraged. One parent, spouse, or sibling may attend at no additional cost. Maximum class size is two persons from the same family.

Session Length
The recommended session length is 60 minutes. Longer sessions are available on a prorated basis and by special prior arrangement.

Tuition
Private sessions are offered at $50 per hour. All sessions must be prepaid at least one week in advance of the normal session date. No refunds for missed sessions.

Equipment (Props)
Most of the props you'll need are things like coins, cards, hanks, and ropes. If you're like many of our former students, you'll also succumb to the temptation to buy a few professional props as well.

Location
Most classes are conducted in our magic studio amidst thousands of tricks and illusions on display for your enjoyment and enlightenment.
